About Us
Serving Butte, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity Counties.
Autism LifeSpan is a Little Red Hen Inc. non-profit service, supported by the Far Northern Regional Center. The nonpartisan resource office currently serves individuals and families in nine counties of Northern California. Autism LifeSpan strives to provide the most up to date information and current events available, while facilitating opportunities for support, connection, and advocacy to our local families. A paid membership is not required to take advantage of the services offered.
In the Autism LifeSpan resource office we provide a Lending Library of books, CDs, and DVDs. The topics cover all aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental disabilities. Autism LifeSpan also offers a vast amount of pamphlets, brochures, and fliers on local services and events. We are continuously gathering and providing information on topics related to Autism, and the organizations that provide regional and national services. There are two well-educated, office employees available to answer questions and provide information during office hours or by appointment.
Autism LifeSpan is proud to offer Meet & Greet, a parent and caregiver support group, and Ability Grows, an integrated program for children of all abilities and their families. Autism LifeSpan also produces a quarterly newsletter, which addresses services, personal stories, advocacy, and opportunities for families and individuals with Autism.

Message from our Parent Liaison
In 1993 my daughter was diagnosed with developmental delays, then autism. After genetic testing she was diagnosed with fragile X syndrome. A few months later we learned she has a seizure disorder. Most recently diabetes became our next challenge.
After her initial diagnoses, and negative prognosis, I gave myself permission to grieve for one year. It was during this time I developed wonderful friendships with other parents from a support group we attended. I realized I was no longer alone in the unknown, and was beginning to feel empowered. I gained personal momentum working with and helping other parents who were facing the same obstacles as I.
I can honestly say I have worked as a parent liaison for the past twenty plus years for various organizations, my favorite being Little Red Hen.
My position as Autism Lifespan Parent Liason allows me to put to good use my knowledge, life experience and love of research.
Autism Lifespan connects families with services and information. We are dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with autism and their families through advocacy, support, education and public awareness. Our office serves Butte, Shasta, Trinity, Siskiyou, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas and Tehama counties. We outreach to service providers, agencies, educators and medical professionals who are equally dedicated to our mission. We advocate for individuals on the spectrum, assisting with IEPs and needed interventions.
Our Lifespan office provides a lending library of approximately 200 books and videos offering an extensive selection of topics both fiction and non-fiction; socialization, communication, Independent Education Plans, and various therapies. New to Lifespan Center we offer a retail store stocked with awareness merchandise, social & language, sensory and pretend play toys. These items are used in our children's programs and are favorites among our participants.
Autism Lifespan publishes a quarterly newsletter designed to keep families up to date with latest news and events happening in our community. We also offer a monthly Meet & Greet for parents and caregivers of children of all ages with developmental delays. We provide one another with support, information and friendship. We enjoy a tasty meal, conversation and an activity. Come join us sometime!
Our office hours are Monday-Friday 10am- 2pm, Wed and Fri 5pm-6pm. You can reach me at 530 897-0900 or email [email protected].
